“Jane Eyre the Musical” is a beautiful musical theater adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s novel “Jane Eyre.” I was cast as Jane at the Hale Center Theater Orem this spring – a local semi-professional theater. It was an absolute dream come true!
Did you know if I had my druthers, I’d be a professional actor? I love to sing. I love to perform. And I love to tell stories. Maybe that’s why Stitch People is a good fit – Stitch People portraits are an excellent form of storytelling!
Anyway, after I was cast as Jane, I re-read the book and poured through everything I could find about Jane Eyre. I grew to love the story very deeply and each time I would read and re-read passages of the book, something new would stand out to me. There is so much to learn in that novel!
To commemorate my wonderful experience, I made a cross stitch pattern with one of the famous quotes from the book. I included the symbolic Chestnut Tree, referenced frequently in the book, with a split down the trunk to illustrate the lightning strike. The leaves of the tree are designed in a geometric fashion to allude to the pages of a book.

I hope you enjoy this pattern! And if you haven’t read “Jane Eyre” do it now! You won’t regret it.
