Podcast Recommendation #1: Stuff You Should Know

[share title=””]
When I cross-stitch I love to have “my stories” on in the background. Usually it’s a TV show (which is usually a kitschy British crime drama, but more on that later), or a podcast. I keep resolving to get into audiobooks, but that hasn’t happened yet. I’ll let you know when it does.

The first podcast I’d like to recommend to you, as something wonderful to listen to while you stitch, is “Stuff You Should Know” by HowStuffWorks.com. This is a delightful podcast that I’ve been listening to for five years, now! It’s hosted by two men, Josh and Chuck who’ve been doing this together for years. Their banter is delightful and the subjects they cover are fascinating.

Each podcast episode focuses on a new subject – something you should know about! Get it? Stuff You Should Know! The podcast covers everything from the mundane (which they somehow make super interesting), to the morbid (Jack the Ripper, anyone?) Seriously – podcasts range from “How Perfume Works” to “How Racial Profiling Works.” And, believe it or not, both of those episodes are fascinating.

They have a huge listener base, too, so fan mail is always really fun to hear (they read interesting things from fans at the end of each episode). Plus, their blog and website is worth a look. They even have a TV show, which I think is available solely online.

Give it a try! Download some episodes that sound interesting to you and let me know what you think in the comments, below!

Enjoy!
Lizzy
